In a sense, Coffee is “born” 3 times before becoming one of our great enjoyments in life. Each of these events during the life cycle of a coffee bean is as important as the other two.

  1. When it is farmed – aspects such as soil type, altitude above sea level, variety of the plant, how it is harvested and other factors are crucial for a great specialty coffee.
  2. When it is roasted – our Monarca Coffee is crafted in small batches, fermented and roasted by certified coffee tasters in Brescia Italy and 3 generations of family tradition and expertise. This is half art and half science and our team are masters for the trade.
  3. When is brewed – We masterfully completed the first 2, now is your turn to brew it. During this third time that coffee is “born”, adequate grinding is essential, uniform grinding and immediate use of the ground coffee is the way to go in order to extract all the greatness. This is more important than the method of extraction itself.

How to brew it? You can use a French press, an Italian style expresso machine, or a filtered machine (American style) and any of these methods will deliver one of the best coffee experiences you have ever experience at home.

Grinding tips: As a general rule, you don’t want a coarse particle size distribution of the ground coffee, it is best to achieve a uniform and fine particle size distribution, so the total surface area in contact with the water is maximised for optimum brewing and extraction of the flavour, crema and aroma.
