The Global Coffee Market
Main producers of coffee, are countries such as Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Honduras and India, but that is for the commercial beans and blends you get at the shopping centre or multinational coffee chains as well as the big brands that have to supplement coffee from multiple sources for their products.
There are other 60 countries around the world including Australia, which also produce coffee, however, 100% of the beans that you enjoy under our Monarca® Coffee brand is exclusively sourced from selected farms in Mexico, which apply sustainable farming practices that aim to protect the forest, the wild life and bring prosperity to their communities.

Monarca® Coffee – Specialty Mexican Coffee
Roasted in harmony with nature
Italians call it “torrefazione”, frequently translated to English as roasting – No matter how you call it, we believe that art and science need to couple to producing the best roasted coffee beans. And this is the story of how it’s done:
For growing high quality coffee beans, everting starts with the best rich volcanic soils, stable weather throughout the year and location (altitude). The states of Veracruz and Chiapas in Mexico, offer unparallel conditions for producing some of the best coffee beans worldwide.
The regions of Coatepec and Huatusco in the State of Veracruz in the vicinity of the state’s capital Xalapa, enjoy the perfect climate and altitude over the sea level. Monarca® coffee is grown at an altitude of approximate 1250 m – this is also known as “café de altura” or high altitude coffee.

Often called The Coffee Capital of Mexico, the name Coatepec comes from the indigenous language Nahuatl, meaning: coatl (snake) and tepetl (hill), or “The Snakes Hill“, and there is where the magic of Monarca® Coffee begins, where nature produces some of the the best Mexican coffee .

The words Café as it is called in Mexico, Caffè in Italian and Coffee in English, come from the Turkish word “kahve“ which means : what marvels and gives flight to the thought, no wonder why a popular energy drink full of caffeine uses the slogan “gives you wings*”.
* Gives you wings is a registered trademark of Red Bull GmbH,. The reference to that brand is to illustrate the point about the meaning of coffee for human kind.

OK, location, location, location, but – what is next?
Coffee cherries are harvested by hand, selecting only ripe fruit, this is not possible with industrialised harvesting, resulting in unparallel homogeneity and consistency – top quality.
The fermenting and drying processes are also handcrafted by our expert partners, only the best of the best is selected as “export quality”, then blended, roasted and packaged in highly protective and advanced packaging technology.
